You should visit our homepage for this October.  All links are connected and all articles are available for viewing.  This is really the first time that we have had our homepage ready for viewing. At the moment we are a quarterly updated site, but this month we are in Halloween mode with our latest edition!

2. NO MORE CLIPPING - COUPONS FREE ONLINE!!!
A number of the sponsors that we have chosen are excellent sources for online coupons.  Some let you search and print out EXCELLENT savings for businesses in your zipcode area.  Some have you instantly download a free software program to take advantage of varous savings and some let you get discounts from your local supermarket.  I've already saved from using ECoupons. They look a little low tech, but the savings are instant, printout on your printer, and you can search your local area businesses.  Check here: ECoupons  Also check these two: CoolSavings and StoreCoupons.
Here's another great site. If you're busy and don't have time to shop endlessly for gifts, the perfect place to visit is GiftCertificates.  They have an excellent solution.  Buy a gift certificate to almost any retailer and have it delivered with a gift card.  You pick the store, and your friends pick the item!  I always suggest one or two items that I think my friends will like.  Since they pick the item, they'll get what they want and have fun shopping at your expense!  Many big mall stores are included. This is perfect idea for those friends who won't let themselves enjoy anything, but it's still not uncomfortable like giving cash.

4. CHECKOUT THE BARGAIN BOOKS SECTION FOR DEALS
If you're really a voracious reader or you'd like to give excellent but inexpensive gifts, try looking at the Barnes & Noble Bargain site.  They have 2,800 different books under $5, 6,800 books under $10, and 8,200 books under $15.  This is a great place to get an inexpensive book.  Once you find it here, you might also check for availability at your local B&N store to avoid any shipping charge!  Look here:  Barnes & Noble Discount Book Site
 
THE CHEAPEST AIRLINE TICKETS
I spent over 30 hours checking just under one hundred of the best low cost sites on the internet for airline fares.  Basically, you won't find the cheapest at Travelocity or Microsoft Expedia or a number of other low cost sites.  You will do better then some people, but basically the best priced tickets seem to be purchased in advance from so-called ticket consolidators who buy blocks of tickets.  Also many major airlines are also jumping on the internet band wagon and offering special discount fairs for web only purchasers.  Package deals can sometimes be excellent when you purchase rooms and flights together too.  I have found a number of real tips especially inside deals on hotels and I will be preparing the information for inclusion to a future Tightwad issue.  But as for now, try comparing with www.cheaptickets.com.  Non members can check prices.  You have to give them a credit card number to join and when you purchase, there are no refunds if you change your mind.  Basically that weeds out the faint of heart.  Just flew round trip on one of their cheap fares without any problems and saved well over $1000. for two round trip tickets.  All major airlines are in their system.  When checking prices, look for alternate nearby airports, book more than 21 days in advance, include Saturday stayovers, and consider leaving on Monday or Tuesday.  You may find a small change will save hundreds of bucks.  Last minute fare savings can be great deals too.  If you can take off at a moment's notice.

CHEAP CANDY IN BULK
If you really have a sweet tooth, check out http://www.bulkcandy.com  They claim to be the largest wholesale candy store on the net.  This is how cheap I am:  I have a 5 cents candy machine in my house filled with Hot Tamales brand candy, if you want some, you'll have to pay!  Surprisingly, I found that Hot Tamales are the one candy that seems to last when stored a long time in my car too.  It survives the high heat and sharp cold without sweating like hard candy or any real degradation. Get some of the red hot cinnamon candy in bulk at: Bulk Candy - Mike & Ike Hot Tamales for cheap!

I love a good laugh.  And as everyone knows, TRUTH IS STRANGER THAN FICTION.  Here's the weird site for this issue that will make you cry with laughter.  Probably you've seen a few e-mails of these reports.  Many of these types of stories have originated from a nationally syndicated reporter who specializes in News of the Weird.  This site compiles the worst offenders and gives awards to those who so kindly have eliminated themselves via stupidity from the human gene pool.  You don't have to be a cynic!  It's real life.
